Joseph left Turkana carrying a broken heart and little else.
After losing someone he loved deeply, staying behind became too painful. So he began walking towards Nairobi, hoping that somewhere along the way, he would find a new beginning.
But the journey was far from easy.
Along the way, Joseph was beaten, bitten by a dog, and attacked through mob justice. He endured injuries, hunger, exhaustion, and the uncertainty of not knowing what awaited him at the end of the road.
Still, he kept going.
Eventually, Joseph reached Nairobi, hoping to find a way to survive. Instead, he found himself facing another difficult reality: life on the streets.
The pain he carried from losing his loved one, combined with everything he had endured on his journey, left him overwhelmed and alone. Depression took hold, and drugs became a way of trying to cope with the pain.
But Joseph’s story is not defined by the streets or the struggles he has faced.
Look closely, and there is still hope.
He survived a journey that could have broken him. He kept moving when there were many reasons to give up. And today, he deserves the opportunity to begin healing.
Joseph needs more than food and clothing. He needs consistent care, counseling, support, and people willing to believe that the person he once was can find his way back.
That is where we can make a difference.
With the support of our donors, well-wishers, and everyone who believes that no one should be abandoned on the streets, we can walk alongside Joseph through the next chapter of his life.
He walked all the way from Turkana to Nairobi searching for a better life.
Now, we can walk with him towards healing.
Sometimes, helping someone is not only about meeting an immediate need. It is about reminding them that their life still matters and that their story is worth continuing.
Joseph’s story is not over.
There is still hope.
