Jimmy Wa Mahindi Choma Has Been Rescued
Many people knew Jimmy as Jimmy Wa Mahindi Choma, the man who roasted maize at the bus station.
But over time, Jimmy’s situation became much harder. He went from roasting maize to surviving on the streets, and people began to notice just how much he was struggling.
Then the calls started coming in.
People sent us videos of Jimmy. Others called to ask about him. Again and again, we heard the same question:
“When will Jimmy be rescued?”
Today, we finally have an answer.
Jimmy has been rescued.
It was not something we could do alone. The people who shared his videos, made calls, encouraged us, prayed for him, and kept bringing his story to our attention played a part in making this possible.
That is what makes Jimmy’s rescue significant. His story was not ignored.
But rescue is only the first step.
Jimmy now begins a new chapter, one that will require care, support, rehabilitation, and the opportunity to rebuild his life beyond the streets.
To everyone who refused to look away from Jimmy’s situation, thank you.
You helped turn a question people kept asking into an answer we can finally give:
Jimmy is safe, and his journey forward has begun.
