He once owned a small kibanda restaurant where he worked hard every day to provide for himself and those who depended on him. Each morning, he opened his business with hope, welcomed customers with a smile, and looked forward to building a better future through honest work.

Then life began to change.

Depression quietly entered his life, becoming a struggle that few people could see. What started as an internal battle gradually affected every part of his world. His business began to decline, relationships grew distant, and over time he lost the stability he had worked so hard to build. Eventually, Joseph found himself living on the streets.

When the Face of Streetkids Society outreach team found him, it was clear that behind his circumstances was a man who had once been hardworking, hopeful, and deeply connected to his community.

Joseph’s story is a powerful reminder that homelessness is not always the result of laziness or poor decisions. Sometimes it begins with a silent struggle that goes unnoticed until the consequences become overwhelming.

Today, a new chapter has begun. Joseph has been rescued and is beginning his journey toward healing and restoration. He urgently needs rehabilitation, counseling, emotional support, and continued care as he works to rebuild both his mental health and his life.
